Difference of Modern And Classic Wedding invitations

Choosing a classical or modern wedding invitation sounds like a trivial subject. But if you wish to make everything perfect for your wedding, it is an important thing. The invitations are the first thing that you set your guests mood, even you couples. You can make your guests to share your happiness. So, if you are confused to choose which invitation, the contemporary invitations or the classical invitations, then here we can help you. To know the difference between modern and classical wedding invitation is necessary and helpful.

Modern Wedding Invitations

This kind of invitation is available in all colors, designs, shapes and sizes. There are no limitations for creativity. For a causal wedding affair, a modern wedding invitation is the perfect choice. It could complement all those weddings that are arranged on beach or other theme weddings. Basically, it is for those who do not want to hold generic concept of invitation. These invitations are more vibrant in every sense of the word – the text, the colors, the designs, the theme or the paper.

The invitations do not miss the important information such as the day and date and venue of the wedding. The paper used could be a combination of two colors and it could be in any shape. Additionally, in a modern invitation you can use a variety of fonts. It is not required to stick to any one font throughout. It sets an informal tone. The color combination, the bold shapes & sizes are beyond the conventional invitations.

Classical Wedding Invitations

Most people still consider the classical or traditional wedding invitations for the formal wedding. White or ivory or ecru paper is used for printing classic invitations. And elegant and yet eligible script is used as the text of these invitations. The text used is direct and simple. It is a formal invitation for the guests and nothing beyond is used. Engraving is the printing technique mostly used for this kind of invitations, because it gives people impressions more elegant.

Modern Wedding Cake Designs

There are a lot of staple marks to a wedding like the pure white dress, the flower girl, the ring bearer, and of course, an ornately decorated cake that will impress all of your guests. The cake is the central aspect of the night and everyone really waits for the moment when the bride and groom will first cut the cake and perhaps follow the messy tradition of feeding each other a piece. This tradition represents the joy and playfulness that is apparent in the bond between husband and wife and is a reminder that marriage is just another step to enhance your friendship and your romantic love. Feeding your spouse is also just a great spectacle for all your guests to watch and enjoy because it is rather funny even though it has so much meaning and is so deeply rooted in tradition.
Another important aspect of the cake is that it is so highly decorated and really can be the central part of your theme that brings all of your decorations together and makes them stand out to your guests as something unique, amazing, and unforgettable. The cake should be a representation of all your dreams for a wedding and should show the guests what your theme is. The best way to do this is with the colors you choose and also the accessories that you want to be put onto the cake like decorations and cake toppers. Cake tops can be so many different things that it might be hard for you to decide what kind you would like to have but there are so many different things that you can do that you will never run out of ways to express yourself through these amazing decorations.

The great part about wedding cake toppers is that you can definitely use them as keepsakes either for yourself and your new spouse or for someone that is really important to you. These are a great way to remember your wedding, especially if you make the cake the central part of the reception and the central aspect of decoration by choosing a cake that is really elaborate and richly colored. Here are a couple examples of amazing wedding toppers that will represent the idea of love.

Stylized Heart Cake Topper:
This heart is done kind of in the style of a Celtic knot on the bottom and a twisting heart that looks really elegant and pristine on top of your cake. This heart represents the idea of love that is definitely present to everyone in the room that is partaking in your wedding celebration and sharing the love that you and your spouse have.

Family Heart Cake Topper:
This cake topper is amazing because it has a few hearts intertwined and one of them is a small one that represents a baby. The beautiful protective family meaning of this cake topper will be a great omen for your future lives together and the family you will have very soon. All your guests will definitely appreciate the meaning of this decoration.

Vintage Meets Modern Wedding Design by Kristin Banta Events

Today we have an incredible visual treat from Southern California's amazingly talented wedding and event planner Kristin Banta of Kristin Banta Events, and the team at Wildflower Linen. Kristin designed this beautiful summertime wedding to let vintage glamor meet modern style in order to create a lush, intimate and over-the-top gorgeous wedding!

Guests arrived at this rich red jewel toned ceremony at the Hotel Bel Air and were welcomed by the Voodoo Lounge Quartet playing as they entered. Walnut Chiavari chairs with champagne taffeta cushions filled the lawn, yarmulkes were offered from a small table filled with flowers, the curved aisle was lined with red petals and sheppard’s hooks holding cages of moss and burgundy amaranths, and the chuppah, which contained a red glass chandelier hanging in its center, was completely covered with stunning red florals by Empty Vase.

After the ceremony there was an outdoor cocktail hour with soft champagne florals and decor, and then guests entered the ballroom through a draped entry hung with chandeliers, and saw a room transformed into a vintage inspired masterpiece! The color palette of pewter and white created a sparkling atmosphere for the whole reception. The entire room was draped in soft pewter fabric, and a luxurious lounge area gave the guests space to relax, watch the action on the dance floor and enjoy the 9 piece band, The James Gang, play throughout the night. I absolutely love the addition of the framed mirror hanging over the draped wall, adding to the vintage vibe in such a creative and modern way!

The tabletops were decorated with mercury glass votives and one of three centerpieces; tall white cascading Phalaenopsis orchids in antiqued mirror urns, low white florals overflowing from mirrored boxes, or tall silver vessels exploding with white ostrich feathers. Wow! Each place setting featured antique pewter chargers, printed menus and satin silver napkins with either a flower embellishment or a rhinestone napkin ring. A white fondant cake from The Cake Divas was decorated with silver details, topped with ruby flowers and displayed on an antique silver cake platform. Not a single detail was left untouched, such thoughtful and exquisite design, and hard work done by all the vendors!

Yes I know we promised this post over 3 weeks ago but what can i say - Christmas took over the inbox...introducing Lauren & Tim (one of our favourite weddings)...  When Lauren & Tim came in to meet & discuss their wedding day it sounded like a charming event and just the type of work we love to work on. REAL WEDDINGS MAGAZINE ran a lovely story on their day in their 2010 issue and finally we are featuring an extended series of our photographs on the SUGARLOVE Blog.
Lauren was a stunning bride. Her breathtaking bespoke dress was by ADAM DIXON and featured a corded lace bodice & cut out detailing on the low back.
Lauren's sister Sarah was the key to the fateful meeting between Lauren & Tim. We were also lucky enough to work with Sarah on her own wedding day in 2009.
The bridesmaids all wore different coloured dresses by Rose & Ruby with accessories by ALANNAH HILL and carried bright bouquets of hydrangeas, dahlias & roses by THE FLOWER STORE.
The couple chose a love poem throughout the service called "The Anniversary" by English Poet, John Donne in tribute to Tim's late mother, Lorraine.
The area surrounding ATHOL HALL, Mosman meant there was no travel required by the bridal party & couple to enjoy some photographs together. A simple stroll down the hill to their own private beach on Sydney Harbour was the perfect getaway.
The grooms suit was by MATTHEW LAWRENCE BESPOKE.
The gorgeous couple....
 The gorgeous dress....
 The gorgeous sunset kiss....
And what it is all about really....the love....
The picture was a funny & fortuitous moment to capture on film. In the background of our last couple shots our Photographer, Bradley noticed surfing champion Layne Beachley coming out of the water in goggles & mask proudly holding her lost engagement ring in hand. Layne had lost her engagement ring during fitness training with the Manly Police 2 days earlier so with the help of some diver friends and what she described as "the luck of our SugarLove wedding nearby" Layne magically found her ring at the bottom of Sydney Harbour during the middle of our photo shoot!! Jumping for joy and celebrating with a fun filled portrait & a toast of champagne was the perfect end to such a magical moment.
The guests were entertained by a jazz trio on the lawn whilst enjoying entrees & drinks before the evening celebrations moved inside ATHOL HALL.
Lauren had a large chandelier brought in for the middle of the room which was surrounded by hanging ferns/florals created by THE FLOWER STORE.
Bride, Lauren & her mother spent months collecting mismatched glass bottles and vases from op shops which were filled with colourful blooms.
The white lace crotcheted tablecloths completed the vintage feel perfectly.

In keeping with the casual garden party theme the couple chose a dinner buffet with a variety of delicious options which proved very popular with the guests.

MY LITTLE CUPCAKE designed the wedding cake which was a tower of pastel treats to savour along with the extensive dessert bar.
Fairy lights lit up the deck at night underneath dozens of hanging lanterns in bright summery tones. The balcony was a lovely area for guests to enjoy on a balmy summer night.
The couple enjoyed their wedding dance to Etta James "At Last" and the guests enjoyed dancing the night away to a latin funk band.
It was a pleasure to work with a couple with such great natural style & elegance and a perfect synergy to our philosophy that less is more at SugarLove. Wishing Lauren & Tim a lifetime filled with happiness and a Merry Christmas to all of our loyal blog readers....with love, Leigh & the team x
